Tomorrow, or maybe today, since New York is six hours behind the time-zone in Norway and Sweden. The new Kent Album Röd is being releaset. I have pre-ordered it on iTunes, so now all i have to do is wait… Tomorrow there will be a release-party here in New York, and I have to go and check it out, even though I can’t get in. Now I’m going to listen some more to Töntarna, while I’m waiting for the whole album.

I’m not joking, on my way to school some people where gathered around something. Curious as I am I had to look, and there, hanging in front of a window was a small possum. See for your self!

Possum

Actually it was kinda cute…

I read quite a few blogs, but my alltime favorite is The Sartorialist. I love that he is selected as one of Time Magazines Top 100 design influencers. There is not much to this blog really. He walks around in different cities (mostly NY) taking pictures of people he thinks look stylish. This simple act has become a huge sucsess, and all the honor to Scott Schuman. If you want inspiration on how to dress, just see what people wear, or take a look at beautiful pictures this is the blog for you.

A few months ago he gave out a book with a collection of his favorite pictures. I bought it, and went to his book signing here in NY with some friends.

I’m going to miss things like that when i go back to Norway!

Today I finished my exam in English Business, It was easy, as it was just a presentation, and some questions. Hurra! Now it’s a month without stress, before the final exams wait at the start of December!

I can finally say that it is fall her in NY. There’s something I really like about autumn, but I can’t explain what. Maybe it’s the colors, the change in temperature, or the fact that winter is just around the corner. My favorite time of the year is winter, but fall has to be the second  best. The fact that it is winter in Norway now and not here is weird. I’m looking forward to go home, but I will definitely miss New York and Jersey City! I am going to enjoy my last month here, and I will move back some time in the future!

And now I have to wash some more clothes! BOORING!

Well, yesterday it was Halloween, and since I was celebrating it here in the US it had to be good, and it was. Thursday I was out looking for a costume, and I didn’t find anything I like. So I ended up improvising a bit, with my own clothes, and a friend who is a make up artist. The Joker ended up beeing my result! Walking around in New York last night was amazing, everyone was wearing great costumes, and the parade was even better! All in all a great night!

Tomorrow I have my English Business exam, so today has been all about preperation, but I’m not nervous :)

Wish me luck!

Florida, I don’t even know where to begin. On Sunday I came home from a week long vaication in Daytona Beach, Florida. A week of sun and summer, and of new experiences. I think it’s safe to say that New York is not like the rest of the U.S, probably not even close. I can also say that i prefer New York. Well, I went to Florida to visit my cousin and her husband, who is studying to be a pilot there. they live in these great apartment complex, with a pool and everything. I think it is safe to say that I’m not so pale now as I was before I left, though the difference is small.

Florida, at least the part I saw was nice, not beautiful, but nice. Its different from New York, and from Norway. In Daytona there wasn’t a “City Center” or something like that, you had to drive to get everywhere, because everything is spread all around the area. Almost nobody walked anywhere, they drove. Even at Wallmart they had electric carts that people could drive, so they wouldn’t have to walk while shopping. In Daytona they also allow people to drive at the beach. Need I say more?

Apart from having to drive everywhere, Florida was nice. On my first day, after my plane landed in Orlando, we went to a small “town” called Winter Haven. It’s a place where rich people from New York have winter(summer) houses, so when it gets to cold in NY, they just take their private jet to Florida. This town was actually beautiful, and I found myself a hat in a store!

We also went to Busch Gardens in Tampa. I cannot even describe how much fun it was there. The park was so empty that we almost didn’t have to stand in line to take the roller coaster’s. The best one was called Sheikra or something, and had 90 degree drop in it. I think we took that one 6 times! combining the whole day in general I think we ended up with 15 or 16 rides on four different roller coasters, but Sheikra was definitely the best one.

On my last day, we flew over Daytona in a small plane. It was great, you could actually feel every movement of the plane! Brilliant!

I haven’t blogged for quite a while now, and it’s kinda sad. Not that I have  to many readers, but to the people that read my blog I’m sorry. Living in New York is hectic, there is so much going on, that I actually forget to post updates! And that is even more sad, as I have so much to tell all the time!

Well, today I’m travelling to Florida, in fact I’m sitting at the airport right now. I’m going to Daytona Beach to visit my cousin, and her husband, which I think will be very nice. I’m going to stay there for a week. A week of summer I would say, as fall is starting to set in here in NY.

Untill next time (maybe tomorrow) take care! : )

On Thursday it was Fashion’s Night Out, Vogues initiative to get people out in the city to shop. Though many just went out to hunt celebrities, many people also went shopping. Almost all the stores had DJ’s, and other things to attract customers, including A-list people. I went out with my class as part of a lecture, to se how the stores were marketing themselves. Some i think scared the shoppers off, just because there were to many people in que for a celebrity sight. I myself left the que outside Bergdorf because there were to many scraming woemen, who wanted to get inside and see Victoria Beckham and the Olsen twins.

The night started at Opening Ceremony, and ended at fifth avenue, and at Versace I found the Fashion’s Night Out T-shirt. The Celebrity i was looking for was Grace Coddington, and I found here at Prada. There were no screaming, and just a small line. She signed my moleskin, and smiled. She is a lovely lady!

All in all it was a great night!

NY, “The City that never sleeps” litterally.. Today i went on magazine shopping to a Barnes & Noble store on 54th and 3rd Avenue. It has a really big newsstand with magazines from everywhere. I bought New York Magazine, Nylon Guys (interesting) and Esquire US.  Afterwards i went to look at the set of Sex and The City 2. And i saw Sarah Jessica Parker and “Charlotte”, I don’t know the acters name. Anyway, it was fun.

Tomorrow on September 10th it’s “Fashion’s Night Out” here in New York, and in some other cities and countries. It is Vogue’s way of helping the fashion industry by getting people out to shop. Almost alle the stores in the city wil be open from 6pm untill 11pm, so that you can shop all night. In addition, some, or allot of the store will have celebrities in them as well, and maybe designers themselves will show up?They will also sell these Fashion’s Night Out t-shirts, which are really cool.

Another exiting day in NYC is over, and more to come!

IMG_8813

Yes, I’m finally here, in New York, or Jersey City if you will. I have been here for over a week, and i still can’t belive it! The City is amaizing, and easy to explore. On my second day here I went to all the tourist places like Empire State, Times Square, Central Park etc… I can really see why real New Yorkers keep away from the midtown area. It’s like being on a charter vaication in Spain. People trying to sell you a whole lot of crap, seriously, NOT fun. The rest of New York though is FANTASTIC. I don’t think there are words to describe. Central Park is not bad, it’s a great place to get away from the city, and it is ENORMOUS. My favorite part of the City so far is SoHo, all the shops you can imagine smashed together in a quite small area.

The subjects I’m taking are great, especially Fashion marketing. Today as a part of the lecture, we went to see a new movie called The September Issue. A documentary about the process of making the September issue of Vouge 2007. Anna Wintour may be the films star, but Grace Coddington is a genius. She is the Editorial Director of Vogue, and behind almost all the photo shoots in the magazine. To have her creative eye would be a gift!

As I am very tired this will be all for today, but I promise it will not be long untill the next update!
