Exam in Marketing tomorrow, can’t wait till it’s over! Then English Business exam on friday, which is the start of my last weekend in New York! Well, it might be good to go home, but I will definitely miss NYC!
Today, as everyday for the last week I have been reading, but today I also went to Rockefeller Center. I went to see the annual lighting of the Christmas tree! Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, Shakira, Alicia Keys and Michael Buble performed! It was really fun, and I got the good old Christmas feeling!
Off to sleep now, before a new day of reading and writing!
Wish me luck!

Literally, for the past few days I have spent my time at Starbucks, reading for the exams next week. Coffe, my best mate. I don’t understand why some people dosen’t like coffe! Seriously, what’s not to like?! Well, when I’m not reading, or thinking about reading, I’m asleep. I can’t wait for next friday when all the exams are over! Next friday will also be my last friday in New York (for now). It’s a strange feeling, but then again it will be good to go home for a while!
Well, I need some sleep before I return to the land of books and coffe!

Vintage shopping is a lot of fun, especially if you know where to go! Some of the best. NO, the best pieces of clothes I have bought in New York is vintage. The city is huge, and shopping vintage is not exactly easy (where to go, whats best etc)… Williamsburg in Brooklyn is allways mentioned as the best place to buy vintage, I am not going to disagree with this. And “Beacon’s Closet” is probably the most talked about shop, but not my favorite (too big). My favourite is The Garment Room, and it’s located in SoHo. All my favourite vintage stuff has been bought here, among them a Burberry trench coat. It’s not a huge store, and it might not be the best, but it’s great! There aren’t a lot of clothes (compared to Beacon’s), but you can find really interesting pieces, like my vintage Givenchy vest. And the lady who owns the shop is SO nice! She knows the store in and out, if you are looking for something ask her, and she will know where to look, if they have it ofcourse. The store is also a “showroom” or something for artists. All the walls are covered with paintings, art installations, you name it! If you’re not going to buy anything, I would have a look anyway!

I have allways thought that Leighton Meester is hot, but not as hot as in here new photoshoot for GQ. In this photoshoot she is HOT, I mean really hot! I am not exaggerating if I tell you that I drooled a bit when I saw this first photo!

Check out GQ.com for the whole photoshoot! There’s one of Megan Fox as well!

I am not a huge fan of Designer collaborations with High Street chains, like Jimmy Choo for H&M. However, today i bought new leather boots from this Collaboration. I now some girls that stood in line outside an H&M store in Manhatten from 6 am on saturday, just so they would be among the 160 people to get early access. Yesterday I was in Washington, so today I went into Manhatten and as i thought there was a lot of stuff left from the men’s collection. I had my eye on a leather bag, but it was too expencive for my taste, and I will not pay $250 for something from H&M. Instead I ended up buying leather boots, something I actually needed. Now I’m ready for the winter that waits home in Norway.

“HEIT” is the Norwegian term for hot. It’s not often one can say that models are hot, because in general they are not. Jessica Stam However! I’m out of words. If your a guy like me, enjoy. If your a girl, envy her!

Today I went on a spontanious trip to Odin New York just to look around, and see if they had the chain I found online. Yes they did, but it was tiny, way to small. While at Odin, I spotted another chain. It was by the same designer, but under his jewelry label Giles & Brother. It was perfect, exactly what I was looking for. So I bought it. It’s a keychain. Quite masculine and heavy, as I wanted. Small things like this is why I like to buy things at a store, because suddenly you can find exactly what you want.

One of the best things about living in New York is that if you find something you like in a magazine or on the internet, you will probably find it in some store. I don’t like to shop over the internet, I like the experience of looking around, and then make the desission to buy something. This accounts for everything. Yesterday I was surfing the internet when I came over a store called Odin. This store is one of the few stores only comitted to menswear, and it’s located here in NY. On there webpage i found a chain/necklace that i think I will buy instead of the pendant from Tiffany’s. It’s a key on a chain, exclusively sold at Odin. Made by Philip Crangi for the store. Philip Crangi I learned today is a leading jewlery designer.
One of the things I especially like about this chain is the fact that you can only buy it here. That makes the product special. You will not meet many other people wearing the same thing.

Last week my apartment got the weekend cleaning. On Saturday I had to rise at 8 am, so that I would be ready to leave when the cleaning lady arrived, usually she comes at 9 am. Lucky me, she did not come before after I left at 11. Me and one of my roomates went to a café on Grove Street (Jersey City) and had breakfast/lunch. Afterwards I went into Manhatten just to walk around, and ended up in Central Park. I have never had a nicer day of fall in my life! Leaves all over, all the different colors, and nice weather. The sun was shining all day. This is one of the New York moments I’m going to miss when I go back home.

Today Burberry launched a website called Art of the Trench. It’s a project and a celebration of their outerwear, and especially the famous Trench Coat. The project is a collaboration with the photographer, and blogger Scott Schuman/The Sartorialist. I like projects like this, showing how real people uses simular coats in different ways, it’s inspiring. The beautiful photos are just another reason to check it out.
